Over the Labor Day weekend (the first weekend in September), the usually quiet community of Barriere bustles with activity. The entire community comes together to produce an event that attracts participants from all over Canada! That event is the North Thompson Fall Fair and Rodeo, and it's just a good time! Originally begun to "encourage, develop and promote the advancement of agriculture and farm living in the North Thompson River Valley.", the N.T.F.F.R. is entering it's 58th year and is going strong!

Fall Fairs are old fashioned? While they certainly have the flavor of
simpler times, agriculture and farm living has definitely entered new
millennium with the rest of us.
Of course, the main attraction is the rodeo, but you can also expect to enjoy rides, games, demonstrations, great food and exhibits of livestock, produce, fine arts and crafts, parades and more! The North Thompson Fall Fair and Rodeo is an event not to be missed! |
